Breathe, 2017
This workshop taught participants how to create a handmade typeface using Adobe Illustrator and free online font creation software such as Calligraphr or FontStruct.
Chloe guided participants through how to design a font through the context of her practice-based PhD Research project, Living but a Day. It explores how typographic design can be used to remember overlooked histories in Ireland, and takes inspiration from archival material held by Linen Hall Library and HERe NI/LGBTQIA+ NI History Project.
This workshop discussed the fundamentals of typography and lettering and encouraged participants to develop their own typographic expression by re-visiting printed ephemera of the past. The outcome of this workshop was to ensure participants have a better understanding of typographic design and how they can use lettering to respond and revisit history.
